Lightware handles video signals for show-stopping Epson Globe at ISE 2025
For the second year in a row, Motion Mapping leveraged the power of Lightware’s advanced video signal distribution technology at ISE to ensure the flawless execution of visual content.
Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) is widely recognised as a world-leading trade show for the systems integration and professional AV market. Since its move to the Fira de Barcelona in Spain, the event has become a global stage for showcasing the best in cutting-edge technology and innovation. For several years, video production specialists, Motion Mapping, have collaborated with projector manufacturer Epson to create awe-inspiring visual experiences at ISE. In collaboration with creative agency, One Thousand, Motion Mapping leveraged the power of Lightware’s advanced video signal distribution technology for the second year in a row to ensure flawless execution of visual content.
Motion Mapping and Epson began work approximately eight months in advance of the event to begin conceptualising, planning for technical delivery, and preparing the necessary equipment. In the week leading up to the exhibition, the team were on-site at Fira de Barcelona, building and setting up the stand in collaboration with Epson’s creative teams and set builders.
Epson’s 2025 exhibit was a part of the brand’s ‘See It, Feel It’ campaign, which aimed to explore elements of the natural world through digital projection. The focal point of the exhibit was a 2.2-metre mirrored globe, suspended in the air and illuminated by three 4K, 20,000-lumen Epson projectors displaying AI-generated, kaleidoscopic floral imagery. Beyond the central installation, Motion Mapping’s work also encompassed other key areas of the stand. These included the main Epson Projection Wall, which utilised nine 20,000-lumen projectors in a triple-stacked configuration, and the ‘Leaves Feature Wall’, powered by five 30,000-lumen projectors.

One of the primary challenges of designing and implementing the video solution at Epson’s ISE stand was the sheer scale of the space and the complexity of distributing and monitoring video signals across multiple areas.
We had a large number of high-resolution projectors throughout the stand. It was a priority to ensure smooth, high-quality content delivery without any signal degradation or latency issues.”
- explains Stuart Harris, Creative Projection Mapping Specialist at Motion Mapping.
Given the importance of the event, the selected technology needed to be incredibly reliable and robust, capable of operating 24/7 across an almost two-week period without failure.

Motion Mapping selected Lightware’s MX2 8x8 HDMI 2.0 matrices to handle the switching between primary and backup systems. To facilitate high-quality video transmission, every projector received its input signal from the media servers via Lightware’s HDMI20-OPTJ-TX90 transmitter and HDMI20-OPTJ-RX90 receiver pairs. The use of Lightware’s fibre-optic transmission technology ensured that video signals were delivered without any loss in quality, even over long distances. The proven track record of Lightware’s matrices and fibre-optic solutions made them the ideal choice for this high-profile installation.
Lightware products integrated well with other technologies, including Green Hippo Hippotizer media servers, Datapath FX4 video wall controllers, an MA GrandMA3 Compact Lighting Console and Adder XDIP matrices. The team meticulously designed and assembled the equipment racks at their UK headquarters before deploying them on-site in Barcelona. Once in place, their technical experts worked closely with Epson’s set builders and creative agency to fine-tune the projection alignment and create a visual spectacle that would stop visitors in their tracks.
