Google Meet Certification for Taurus UCX HC60
Newly certified peripheral switchers extend native BYOD workflows in ChromeOS touch controller rooms supporting seamless switching, meeting continuity, and improved admin visibility.
Lightware announces that additional Taurus UCX peripheral switchers have been certified for Google Meet in ChromeOS touch controller rooms, expanding Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) capabilities for organisations standardising on Google Meet hardware. The newly certified devices build on Lightware’s Google Meet integration to deliver streamlined connectivity, enhanced video processing, and stronger networking and security foundations for modern meeting spaces.
With the integration, users can connect a laptop via a single USB-C cable and immediately access the room’s display, speaker, microphone, and camera for video conferencing and collaboration without complex setup. Taurus UCX also supports automatic mode switching, ensuring the room behaviour remains predictable for both end users and IT teams.
The certification is extended to the following Lightware Taurus UCX HC60 variants:

For end users, the rooms are desgined to automatically enter BYOD mode when a laptop is connected via USB-C, enabling immediate use of in-room AV peripherals. Crucially, if a Google Meet call is already in progress, connecting a laptop does not interrupt the meeting; instead, the same connection can be used for content sharing during the call, maintaining a unified meeting experience.
For IT administrators, certified Taurus UCX devices appear in the Google Admin Console, providing new visibility into when BYOD mode is active and helping reduce false “missing peripheral” alerts when third-party devices temporarily take control of room peripherals. This improves monitoring accuracy and simplifies support for high-usage rooms.
