Introducing The TPN Ecosystem
The TPN ecosystem brings Lightware’s SDVoE-based endpoints under a unified architecture - enabling scalable, centrally managed AV-over-IP deployments across rooms and buildings.
As professional AV systems move decisively toward 10G networks, integrators are gaining unprecedented performance, but often at the cost of increased complexity. Discovery issues, fragmented management tools, and unpredictable behavior can undermine even the most carefully designed AV-over-IP deployments.
Lightware’s TPN Ecosystem is built on SDVoE technology. TPN provides a structured, centrally managed 10G AV-over-IP environment for uncompressed 4K60 4:4:4 video, USB, and control signals. By treating the network as a coherent, managed fabric, the system combines the reliability of traditional matrix switching with the scalability and flexibility of modern IP architectures.
The Nerve Center: TPN-MMU
The central component of the TPN architecture is the TPN-MMU. Acting as the primary controller, it consolidates endpoint discovery, configuration, routing, and monitoring into a single, unified interface.
It handles multiple TPN endpoints to suit projects of different scales, the MMU transforms a distributed 10G network into a coherent virtual matrix. System operation is organized around three clearly defined workflows:
- Find: Automated discovery of all TPN endpoints across the network delivers a real-time, structured system overview. Devices are identified, named, and organized centrally, significantly simplifying large-scale AV-over-IP deployments.
- Prepare: Centralized system configuration without relying on third-party SDVoE management tools or switch command-line utilities. The MMU supports consistent endpoint setup, streamlined routing preparation, and validated network integration across AV and corporate network segments.
- Operate: Control video, audio, and USB routing via LW3. Intuitive routing control, endpoint status visibility, and integrated audio and control services enable predictable, day-to-day operation from a single interface.

For integrators, this workflow-driven approach reduces commissioning time, simplifies system management, and eliminates the need to juggle multiple vendor-specific applications.
Industry recognition followed at ISE, where the TPN-MMU was honored with the Best of Show Award by AV Technology, underlining its impact and technical merit within the AV market.
Start Exploring the TPN Ecosystem
The TPN ecosystem provides a repeatable framework for 10G deployments. By centralizing management through the Matrix Management Unit and offering versatile endpoints for USB and fiber, the platform serves as a stable foundation for enterprise AV.
Taurus TPN
Born from the industry-standard UCX range, Taurus TPN brings USB-C into the 10G realm. It handles 4K60 video, data, and power over a single cable, but adds the ability to route USB peripherals dynamically across the network.
HDMI-TPN
The HDMI-TPN line is engineered for high-bandwidth environments requiring uncompressed, zero-latency HDMI 2.0 distribution. Crucially, it is fully compatible with Taurus TPN endpoints, allowing you to mix and match hardware based on the specific needs of each room.
HDMI-OPTN
For long-distance requirements, the OPTN units utilize optical fiber to extend the SDVoE signal path. This is standard for large-scale campus deployments where copper distance limitations are a factor.
The New Standard for the Rack: UCX-TPN-TX30-R
A significant addition to the lineup is the UCX-4x3-TPN-TX30-R, Lightware’s first rack-based Taurus transmitter. The unit's rear-facing I/O and internal power supply are optimized for high-density rack environments, ensuring clean cable paths and efficient thermal management.
The standout feature? Dual 100W USB-C power delivery. Even in a centralized deployment, you can provide full charging and connectivity for two separate laptops via the rear-facing connectors. It enables USB 2.0 connectivity over IP, overcoming the distance limitations of direct USB cabling, extending data and 4K video up to 100 meters over the 10G network.

Field Performance The TPN ecosystem was recently demonstrated at ISE 2026 in Barcelona via a live 10G network. The setup showcased the interoperability between the different TPN families, including the new rackmount Taurus TPN TX, proving that high-fidelity audio and 10G video can live in perfect synchronization.
The demo highlighted how the MMU manages the entire routing fabric as a single entity. Instead of configuring individual encoders and decoders, the system functions as a scalable virtual matrix, making it easier to manage multi-purpose or divisible spaces where room layouts change frequently.
