Reliability & architecture: LARA 2.0 moves to a single‑threaded architecture and introduces memory management optimizations to deliver more predictable runtime behavior and improved uptime. These changes make the platform easier to maintain and more resilient under load, reducing unexpected restarts and simplifying long‑term operation.
Logging & observability: Observability has been strengthened with an advanced logging system that can forward logs to a remote TCP server and supports configurable log levels for TCP, the GUI and support package files. The Management UI now shows memory consumption, CPU and uptime so troubleshooting and capacity planning are faster and clearer.
Driver & integration ecosystem: The new release expands protocol support with a TPN MMU and drivers for SSH client, Telnet client, UDP, WebSocket, TCP servers and a REST API. The display driver stack has been redesigned to be more testable and maintainable than the legacy 1.3.x drivers, making integrations easier to develop and troubleshoot.
Security & user controls: LARA 2.0 adds optional password protection for UserPanels, allowing administrators to require user authentication before room controls are available. This provides an extra layer of control in shared or sensitive environments.
