Lightware Academy Expands Global Accessibility with Multi-language Subtitles
At Lightware, we believe that learning should be available to everyone, no matter where they live or what language they speak.
That’s why we’re continuously evolving Lightware Academy, our free, ProAV-certified e-learning platform to better serve a global audience. As part of our ongoing development, we introduce multilingual subtitles throughout most of our courses.
Starting this summer, users will notice a closed caption (CC) button appearing in the lower right corner of the LWR Academy’s video player. By clicking this icon, participants can select subtitles in one of eight major languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish and Chinese. This feature is designed to make our content more inclusive, helping professionals and newcomers alike engage with our materials in the language they are most comfortable with.
The ones marked with a green tick already include subtitles. Those with Xs are not available yet, as we're updating the content - subtitles will be added in the upcoming version.

To further simplify the user experience, the platform will also suggest a default subtitle language based on the viewer’s geographical location. Of course, users retain full control and can change their preferences at any time.
In addition to language options, we’re giving users the ability to customize their subtitle settings. This includes adjusting the font size, opacity, typeface, and text color, allowing for a more personalized and accessible learning experience.
This update reflects our commitment to openness, accessibility, and knowledge-sharing across borders. Whether you’re an AV enthusiast from Berlin, a systems integrator in Shanghai, or a university tech manager in Mexico City, Lightware Academy is here to support your professional growth in your language.
We’re committed to building an inclusive learning community and look forward to welcoming more learners from around the world. Stay tuned as we roll out additional enhancements and new content in the coming months.
