Lightware Joins "Girls’ Day" to Inspire the Next Generation of Women in Tech
On April 10, we proudly took part in "Girls’ Day", a nationwide initiative aimed at encouraging young girls to explore the exciting world of engineering, science, and technology.
As a responsible company, we believe it is important to address the challenges within our industry – such as the underrepresentation of women in this field. Our goal is to encourage young people to believe that they can become anything they want, and we are committed to the idea that diverse knowledge and perspectives make our communities stronger.
Organized annually across Hungary, Girls’ Day invites upper primary and secondary school girls to visit leading companies, universities, and research institutions. Through interactive programs and hands-on experiences, the initiative aims to boost interest in technical fields and pave the way for more women to enter STEM careers in the future.
For the first time, Lightware opened its Budapest office’s doors to host girls aged 14–18, offering a full-day program designed to give them an authentic glimpse into various departments and professions within the company. The day kicked off at 9 AM with a meet-and-greet session, followed by an introduction to supply chain management and production planning: complete with fun and engaging tasks.
Later in the morning, participants joined an interactive workshop with our engineering team, while the afternoon was dedicated to exploring the world of sales and marketing. The day concluded with a playful and brain-teasing quiz session.
In total, six different departments were involved in the event, with more than 20 Lightware colleagues directly contributing to the day’s success, and many more supporting behind the scenes. Their passion and dedication played a key role in making the event a meaningful and inspiring experience for everyone involved.
