In any environment where uptime matters, resilience is essential. UBEX provides end-to-end redundancy options and failover features designed to help keep signals stable during critical operation. Operating on 2x10G links, UBEX also enables robust bandwidth and flexible deployment choices depending on the technical requirements of the project.
For straightforward extension, UBEX can be deployed as a point-to-point extender pair, with no Ethernet switch required when simple extension is the goal. This makes it well suited to clean, predictable links such as stage-to-FOH, control-room-to-display, or projector runs, while remaining equally relevant for permanent installations that value consistency and repeatability.
UBEX also supports practical features that help teams maintain consistent presentation quality. Built-in 4K scaling helps standardise output when working with mixed display types, while seamless switching enables fast source transitions. For real-time content and live operation, ultra-low latency (0.01 ms) helps preserve a natural, immediate user experience. UBEX also supports quick boot time (18.4 seconds), helping technicians get back online or change mode of operation rapidly at venues where speed matters.
UBEX takes flexibility to the next level for temporary deployments, as it can operate as transmitter, receiver, or transceiver (TRX), allowing the same hardware to be configured for different roles matching perfectly what the job at hand requires. As a transmitter-receiver pair, UBEX devices can extend 2 signals simultaneously, provided that their combined bandwidth is within 20 Gbps (e.g. 4K60 + 1080p60). In TRX mode, the same device can simultaneously transmit and receive an uncompressed 4K60 signal.
The supported signal formats can also be very diverse. Dolby Atmos, Dolby Vision, HDR10, non-standard resolutions and unique aspect ratios are all handled by the innovative FPGA-based design.
UBEX also uses field-exchangeable 10G SFP+ modules, enabling teams to match fibre types and distances by changing modules as needed. An SFP+ to RJ45 copper Ethernet module is also available for installations requiring CAT7 cables. For tougher handling and production-style connectivity, UBEX-Pro20-HDMI-R100 variants add rugged connector options such as Neutrik opticalCON, etherCON, and powerCON TRUE1 (model dependent).
Product variants are also available with balanced analog audio In/Out, USB HID extension and Full USB 2.0 extension.
