Lightware’s Taurus product family introduces 5K support
Lightware, an industry leader in connectivity and signal management solutions, has announced a major update to its Taurus platform, which now delivers flawless switching for 5K and 21:9 ultrawide display formats.
This enhancement makes Taurus devices fully compatible with the latest generation of hybrid environments, including those using Microsoft Teams Front Row, Zoom Rooms, and other ultrawide meeting room layouts.
As hybrid collaboration evolves toward wider, more immersive display experiences, we want to make sure our customers stay ahead of the curve,” says Gergely Vida, CEO at Lightware. “Native 5K and 21:9 support means the Taurus range is ready for the new standard in visual communication, delivering flexibility, compatibility, and reliability in every meeting space.
The addition of native 5K and 21:9 display compatibility brings a range of real-world advantages to modern meeting, learning, and collaboration environments such as simulation, engineering, broadcast, and executive boardrooms. Lightware’s Taurus devices can now display collaboration interfaces exactly as intended, showing more participants, shared content, and chat simultaneously without cropping, scaling, or distortion. The wider canvas also allows users to view multiple sources or applications side by side, making multi-window workflows even easier to manage — ideal for creative studios, control rooms and training environments with immersive content.
With a newly expanded EDID library, Taurus devices can now automatically detect and configure 5K and 21:9 displays, eliminating manual setup and reducing deployment time for true plug-and-play simplicity. This simplification also reduces the need for IT support calls. The expansion means flawless compatibility with all display types, from ultrawide monitors to premium LED walls. Taurus devices can handle premium 4:4:4 visuals and advanced audio signals with ultra-low latency for smooth, uninterrupted presentations every time.
Lightware continues to expand 5K support across its entire Taurus product family. The feature is currently available for Taurus UCX HC40 and HC60, Taurus DCX, Taurus TPX and Taurus TPN models. By the end of the year, full 5K capability will extend to the entire UCX/DCX lineup, including the HC30 variants.
As ultrawide and 5K displays become the norm in both creative and educational spaces, the update ensures long-term compatibility with next-gen displays, avoiding costly system redesigns later.
