What The User Get
Single-Cable Control
With Taurus UCX switchers, one USB-C cable delivers video, audio, control, network and power.
Complete Audio System
Room audio is captured by the TCC2, processed in the Biamp DSP, and played over the Genelec speakers; laptop audio can be sent/received through the UCX.
Control PTZ Cameras
It helps visually track and focus on the meeting participant who is actually speaking, controlled by the integrated control software LARA.
Use case: BYOD meeting room with dual displays and soft-codec conferencing.
Core switcher: Lightware Taurus UCX-4x3-HC40 under the table handles HDMI & USB-C inputs, routes video to both displays, and switches USB 3.1 peripherals (camera, keyboard/mouse) to the active laptop. It also runs LARA for the on-table touch UI.
Table connections: Two HDMI BYOD inputs + two USB-C BYOD inputs via a TBX table box. A LARA userpanel touch controller sits on the table for source selection and room functions.
USB peripherals:
- Panasonic AW-UE40 PTZ camera presented to laptops via the UCX’s USB 3.1 host switching.
- Wireless keyboard/mouse receiver into the UCX for local control. (The UCX exposes/switches USB to the active BYOD.)
Audio (Dante):
- Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 mic → Biamp Tesira Forté X 400 DSP → Genelec 4410A loudspeakers, all on the Dante network.
- The UCX variant shown provides a Dante audio port to interface program audio with the DSP/speakers.
- Networking/Power: A small PoE switch under the table powers/aggregates the ceiling mic, camera (if PoE), and Dante devices.
Displays: Two wall-mounted 4K capable displays fed from the UCX HDMI outputs for mirrored or independent content.
