We introduce Taurus SCX-2x1-HC60
New standalone HC60 model delivers 5K switching, USB-C charging and secure Ethernet without LARA yet fully supports integration with third-party automation systems.
We introduce the Taurus SCX-2x1-HC60, a high-performance standalone matrix switcher designed for meeting and collaboration spaces that need reliable AV and USB switching without LARA control. Built on the same hardware platform as Lightware’s HC60 family, SCX-2x1-HC60 provides USB-C single-cable connectivity for video, USB, audio, network connection and up to 100W charging, alongside flexible host switching via USB-C or HDMI + USB.
By keeping room control separate, SCX-2x1-HC60 helps organisations standardise on a robust connectivity core while tailoring control to each space. If room automation is required, customers have the freedom to integrate SCX-2x1-HC60 with their own preferred room automation software and control environment, rather than being locked into a built-in approach.
The SCX-2x1-HC60 supports video resolutions up to UHD/4K@60Hz 4:4:4 and 5K (5120×2160) over HDMI 2.0, delivering smooth performance for modern displays, including ultrawide formats used in executive spaces and specialist applications. With USB 3.1 Gen 1 connectivity up to 5 Gbps, the switcher helps teams share content and connect room peripherals with minimal friction.
Designed for streamlined integration, SCX-2x1-HC60 enables connection of up to two hosts and supports up to four USB peripherals, with options such as priority switching and USB-follow-video behaviour to simplify day-to-day operation. It also supports CEC at the HDMI outputs, helping integrators align display behaviour with room workflows.
Security and manageability remain central to the platform. The device includes separate Ethernet interfaces for secure control and utility AV, supports protected access methods (including SSH, SSL and HTTPS), and is password-protected with a unique factory-generated password aligned with evolving cybersecurity expectations, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). For monitoring and diagnostics, SCX-2x1-HC60 supports SNMPv3 and remote system logging via Syslog protocols.
„Our goal with SCX is straightforward: deliver dependable USB-C and HDMI switching, strong security, and the same proven HC60 signal performance in a standalone model for cost-sensitive rooms."
explains Márk Hilóczki, Product Manager at Lightware.
